Honeycomb cleverness
My sister pointed out to me on the phone last night that it is possible to knit honeycomb stitch without a cable needle. I tried the techniques she suggested, and they seem to work. I crossed one cable the wrong way while I was learning the new technique, but other than that it seems to work okay. The only problem is that it requires some fairly fancy needle/stitch juggling, and my honeycomb sections are kind of tight. I may stick to the cable needle.
I will post the steps later when I have my work in front of me. I don’t quite have a clear mental image of the steps involved, but my hands remember them.
