Milestone 2
Here is the second milestone in the Aran:

The major sections are:
- collar and shoulder saddles
- front panel
- back panel
- right sleeve
- left sleeve
- bottom
Two down, four to go.
note to self: I stopped on row 14 of the Saxon Braid, row 6 of the Windblown Cables.
In other knitting news, I’ve decided to start selling some hats. I think I’m going to put up a bunch of Cecilia kufis and then start doing some variations on Anna Zilboorg’s stuff. You see, my CD/MP3 player died last night. I’ve decided that any future sound system I get is going to have be an MP3/OGG player, and the iPod is one of the best solutions out there, especially considering my main computer is an iBook.
Unfortunately, they also start at $300. Ack!!! So the plan is to start selling hats, and hopefully by November I can afford to buy myself an iPod as a birthday present.
Hm. Maybe I should just sell a kidney instead.

For starters, I like this sweater you’re doing now much more than the red one.
But what I thought I write was to make sure you know about the Goodwill Computer Store in Austin.
I don’t know if they have the latest and greatest, but they supposedly have a lot of good stuff for dirt cheap. Dad just bought me a nice bubblejet 3000 printer there for $10, for example.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one of those Kufi caps, so forget I mentioned it. That one with the pearls was super cool. And caps are so lovely for bad hair days!
