Seminar Photos
I’m running late this morning, so I’m just going to dump these photos and explain them later.
Okay, now some commentary.
Here we have the lovely Yvette modelling one of Ms. Devine’s tops. The piece was constructed by “mindless knitting” - garter stitch, but with random bits of stocking, seed and moss stitch interspersed. The mindless knitting pieces were then bordered with a single crochet edge and sewn together.

Several of the local knitters practicing the new techniques.

Eleven knitters gathered ’round Ms. Valentine as she showed us her finishing techiniques. She likes to leave loose ends on the right side of the fabric and then create little crocheted squiggles on the face of it.

A sample of linear knitting with a pansy finish using the loose ends.

The Incomparable Ms. Valentina Devine.

We all handed in our free-form knit swatches and Valentina sorted them out to balance the colors. She normally does this with skeins of yarn before starting a new piece, then she takes the finished swatches and combines them to create a new item.

Here is a shawl created by crocheting together some mindless knit swatches.

Another angle of all of us knitters.

Closeup of a corner of a jacket made in the linear knittings style. I really like this technique, and I expect I’ll be using it in some projects in the coming year.

I gather this is the Yarn Barn.
Looks like people are trying to be creative and are taking some risks. That’s always fun.
