That wasn’t so bad…

Today is my day off, so I took advantage of it by sleeping in waaaay late and then riding the new bike in to work. I know that I’m slower on this new bike, so I was a little surprised when it took me the same amount of time to get downtown.

I think the big equalizer is the traffic lights. I obey all the traffic laws when I ride, so I spend a fair amount of time stuck at stop lights. Lord, if only this town had a bike path. There are unused railroad tracks all over the place, but so far, no rails to trails movement seems to have gotten going.

Anyway, the new bike is downtown and I’m going to ride my “beater” – an old Univega 12-speed – back home in a little while. I’ll post some photos of the sakiori’s progress tonight if I don’t get squished.

To SA’s credit, they are trying to put bike lanes in on some of the new construction. Wurzbach Parkway has pretty decent lanes. Which is fine, if you happen to commute along Wurzbach Parkway a lot – which I don’t.

Oh well. Someday the enlightened age will be upon us, and everyone will ride bikes.

In other news, Hell will freeze over and monkeys will fly out of my butt. 😉

PS Or wait, come to think of it, I think the bike lane was on Lockhill Selma.

This town does have bike paths. I just saw one about 5 feet long near Cody library the other day.

See for more info about SA’s 5 feet long bike lanes.
