Here’s a shot of me modeling the completed sakiori.
I never exhibit posture like this in real life.
I’m really happy with this thing, even though I have been hating it like water hates the desert for the last month. It’s very warm, not too scratchy, and just about the perfect length. And the colors are going to be great this Autumn.
Now I can get on with some of the other half-dozen projects I’ve got going on. As I said earlier, I’m studying for a certification exam this week, so I am not going to be knitting anything for a while. When I do start again, I’m going to be doing another paid-for piece. An old Chinese lady who works at the diner where I usually get breakfast wants me to make her a watch cap to go with a dark navy pea coat she has. She’s very particular about wanting good yarn – I’m thinking some Lamb’s Pride Worsted will be good if I can find a decent color for her. That’s going to take a week tops; after that I’ll get cracking on the Sooper Sekret Project for Christmas and start up the second sleeve on my Aran.
And hey, thanks for the kind words, folks. I’ve been having a rocky time lately. Maybe in a few months I can write about it. Kaetchen, Bess, Stacey, Alexandra, Cari, Kelly, Sheryl, everyone else – thanks.
