I added some toggles to the sakiori. These are elk horn tips, courtesy of Kaetchen, who knows her chicken. You got to know your chicken.

I also figured I’d show you the progress of the Sooper Sekrit Project. It’s about three rows so far, so I don’t think I’m giving anything away with this picture.

Obviously, there’s a looong way to go with this. I don’t think I’m going to show anymore pics of it until it’s done. It’s not that I’m trying to build dramatic tension here, it’s just that if I show what it is, it will become rather obvious to the intended recipient that it is for them. Such is the crisis of publicly announcing what you’re working on and simultaneously trying to surprise someone.

It’s a cloudy day in San Antonio. I passed a TV after lunch that said a flood watch was in effect for our county until this evening. I really wish that this expected precipitation would be accompanied by cooler weather. I’m so ready for Autumn. Even a freeze sounds good. Then maybe I could get really motiviated to finish my Aran.

Happy Labor day to those who get it. For those of you who don’t get your paychecks from the man, here’s wishing you some good karma.

The Sakiorki vest is spiffy! (Yes, I’m an old fart and that IS high praise.) If you don’t mind me asking, where’d you get the pattern? I’d love to try it.
