Apologies to FedEx
The other day when I posted my rant on Federal Express, I was pretty mad. But now that the whole thing has passed, I feel obligated to correct what I said earlier. They really did a very good job.
The fault of the missing package was entirely my apartment managers’. They misplaced the package after signing for it. The only thing that Fed Ex did that was wrong was mis-read the name of the signer - Porche - as “Porch”, which lead the first FedEx operator to tell me the package had been left on the porch.
However, I was able to contact them through the phone and via e-mail, and this is what really impressed me. When I e-mailed them with a rather terse complaint that my package was missing, I got a phone call from the local office within two hours. I’ve waited on hold with AOL longer than that just to get a recording! The local office managed to track down the driver who delievered my package in another couple of hours and verify that he had indeed handed the package to a person.
This is even more remarkable when you consider that the regular driver for that route was sick the day my package was delievered, so it was a substitute driver that they had to track down.
FedEx did a great job. I am amazed at how smoothly their system ran and how responsive they were to my complaint.

D, what’s up with the site? Am I the only person having trouble getting the sidebar to load?

Ugh. It’s my workstation. Something’s wonky. Sorry about that.

Sorry for the wonkiness. Wonkism. Whatever. I swear, I try to keep this page viewable.
