First Goal Done
Okay, I have accomplished one of my September goals: I made a watchcap.

This is made from Lamb’s Pride Worsted, the darkest blue I could find at the Yarn Barn, on #9 circs. It’s a simple two-by-two rib pattern that I’ve found works really well for “caper hats”. I’m calling this one Pumpkinhead because I’m blocking it on a pumpkin. Well, a fake squash. I tried to find some balloons or a head form at the local craft store, but they didn’t have anything I could use. Then I walked by the 1/2 off isle of Hallowe’en decorations, which included some fake pumpkins. I got a very odd look from the lady when I plunked it on the checkout counter and asked, “Would you say that’s about the size of a human head?”
So, it should be dry by tomorrow morning. One of the waitresses downtown wanted it to go with her pea coat.
I also wanted to share some intelligence I picked up last weekend. Those of you who read Stacey Joy’s blog have probably noticed she’s been very quiet lately. No, she didn’t get eaten by a giant squid. She spilled juice on her keyboard and hasn’t been able to get online. Oh, how simple nature brings us low in this technological age.
She’s fine and should be back online as soon as she replaces the keyboard.
One more thing: anyone out there need an HP Inkjet cartridge for a deskwriter 310/320 or portable Deskjet 310/320/340? The morons at CompUSA sent me the wrong fscking cartridge with my new 3520. I’ll let it go for $16 or yarn.

I’m disappointed - after all that about the faux pumpkin, you covered it with plastic first! Waah. But I love the mental picture of you freaking out the sales clerk.
