Second sleeve on the way
Wow, my first “sweater project” category post in a long time. Here’s the progress I’ve made so far on the second sleeve:

“Sleeve” seems like an incredibly banal word for something that takes so much effort. I think I’m going to refer to them as “high-density precision-engineered woolen arm sheathes” instead. I think I flubbed the decrease a little bit about twelve rows back, I’m really not worried about it. I just want to get this sucker done!

Hi,
Love the sweater, where’s the pattern from?
Thanks!

Francesca, I tried to e-mail you but you’re over quota.
The pattern is from Kerry Ferguson’s _Two Sticks and a String_. The instructions are kind of muddy - I really had to struggle with the sleeve decreases to get them worked out.

You are a stud of untold proportions.

Here I was looking at that gorgeous sweater and lusting that I’d got to make one too. Then it struck me that it looks the the ginormous one I JUST ripped out. Is yours saddle shouldered, all in the round and ends up weighing 412 lbs? Mine was an internet pattern that was called Son of A.R.A.N. from a couple of years ago.

Silvia, sorry to hear you had to frog yours. I’ve seen the Son of A.R.A.N. (Anyknitter’s Revolving Aran Network) pattern before, but they never had a picture of the completed project. So I wasn’t sure how close their pattern is to the one I’m using.

Absolutely inspiring, David. Maybe you can help me with a ’simple’ vest for Dan (now that I’ve mastered giant scarves!!)

You are one patient man. I look at those doublepoints, think about double moss/cabling and just shudder. Looks beatiful. Proud of you!

Alysia,
You’ve given me a new acronym to add to the mix! HDPEWAS they shall be from henceforth! I think your Oliewog will certainly benefit from a pair of them. He’s adorable, by the way.
