It's these little details that mark a handmade piece. Look at it as a sign of character.

You know I did the very same thing on my Age of aquarius. But ended up dropping the 2 stitches to the cuff and pulling them back up as a purls.

Oh, great Lisa - now I'm going to get all paranoid everytime I wear my sweater in public and a dachshund frolicks by. :-)

Helen, it's too late for many of us, but save yourself. Don't learn to knit. In no time at all, you will have a large percentage of your living space devoted to storing hanks and balls of yarn that you're never going to use; you'll end up with several sets of needles of the same size so you can work on more than one hat/pair of socks at a time; you'll embarass your friends by following strangers to get a closer look at their sweaters so you can steal the pattern; and finally one morning, you'll wake up hung-over in front of the computer and realize that last night you adopted a llama, and in six months you'll be receiving about twelve kilos of wool in the mail.

And by the way, it is not relaxing. Old ladies who look relaxed when they're knitting are on Valium.

I am glad to hear you are not going to rip out the sleeve for a tiny little artist's statement like a knit, a purl, and a knit. I avoid ripping whenever possible. And, as Meredith of some blog often says, if it isn't noticed by a frolicking dachshund, it really isn't noticeable.

Good for you! You're nearly finished with this beauty! Please start another sweater project so we can continue to enjoy The Sweater Project blog!
