Enlightened Trudging

I am making progress on the Aran sweater. It’s slow and it’s gradual, but it is happening. Pictures won’t do a lot to mollify you because the progress is so painfully slow. I’ll put some photos up in another week or so to give you an idea of how things are going.

Are pain and tedium what I have to look forward to for finishing the body? Did you do the cable at each side?
Perhaps you should consider moving North to get maximum wear out of your sweater…

    Camille,

Rest assured, the pain and tedium are more functions of my particular skills as a knitter, not the pattern itself.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘the cable at each side’ - you mean the wind blown cable? Yes, I’m doing those. I laid it out this morning and looked at it for a while on my sofa. It really is turning out beautifully. I’m looking forward to finishing it and designing my own Aran next.

I think the biggest thing that slows my knitting down (of this sweater) is that I keep stopping to admire it! By cable at each side I meant how the pattern says to C4B at each “seam” between the front and back double moss panels.

    It does?

    Ooops. :-)
