How Grownups Act

I feel like such a grown-up. After a year of carrying my laundry down three flights of stairs to the apartment’s common laundry room, I bought myself a dryer. This is the first time in a long while that I’ve done anything so mature. Normally if I’m going to spend more than $200 on a piece of hardware, it’s going to have an upgradable hard disk in it.
Next thing you know I’m going to be keeping a book of all my receipts.
I’m glad I did this. I have gotten sick of the way I’m living. I looked around my apartment early this week and thought, “I’m ashamed of the way this place looks.” So I’ve gotten rid of the random piles of crap all over the place. By tonight, I will have gotten rid of everything on the laundry futon AND ALL MY SOCKS WILL BE CLEAN!

Oh, and I’m working a cool stitch on my latest hat. It’s a quilted lattice stitch from one of Barbara Walker’s books. I’m using a brightly colored yarn, so some of the stitch detail is muted, but it still looks really cool. Pictures when I’ve finished the crown.
