Beautiful Irony

So, I’ve had an order in at the Yarn Barn for months for Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Candy Apple Red. I believe I may have mentioned it once or twice on these pages. As I was approaching the point in the Monk’s Travel Satchel that I really needed that colorway, I ordered it online a week ago. I picked it up this morning from my apartment offices and am ready to use it to finish the strap and gusset pockets tonight.

Guess who just called? It was Marge from the Yarn Barn. My Candy Apple Red yarn has arrived! See, it wasn’t Autumn I was feeling in the air, it was the playful sense of universal irony.

Oh well. Now they have the yarn in stock for all the people who’ll want to knit the bag once they see mine all done. That’s my rationalization and I’m sticking to it.

Addendum : I should point out that this is very, very unusual for the Yarn Barn. They are an excellent store, and Bobbi goes out of her way to accomodate special orders and one-offs. I am not just saying this because they feed me sometimes.

More like Providence than irony, I’d say.
