Glamorous Koolah
And so it is done, and it is modeled by Koolah. (S)he’s the only one in the household with the proper attitude to wear a scarf like this.

Is it not nifty?
As fun and funky as the yarn is, if I never knit another garter stitch scarf it will be too soon. I am now returning to the Café Bastille sweater which is about 1/3 done. I’m getting ready to divide for the armholes. After that it’s just front & back to the shoulders and then pick up a pair of sleeves.
Then once that’s done, I’ve got dibs on a 10-pack of this Rowan merion/nylon blend that’s in the sale bin at the yarn barn. It shall become many caper hats.

“If I never knit another garter stitch scarf it will be too soon”
AMEN, brother, AMEN!
I did one shortly before Christmas - then had a couple more scarves I needed to do as Christmas presents - and couldn’t manage - so I used a simple lace stitch instead. I felt guilty enough using the size 15 needles!

Let’s, see…. I made 4 for Christmas! They were rather fast gifts though.
And a BIG hit!

David, rather then dividing the sweater for the sleeves/armholes (and changing your gauge too) why don’t you add a few stitches for the openings and then after finishing the shoulder seams, cutting the extra stitches?
It will make for a quicker knit, gauge remains consistent, and you get to steek!!

Genia,
Oooh, good idea! I’ve never steeked before, so that never occurred to me.
Unfortunately I’ve already done the divide. I guess I could rip it out, but I’d just as soon plow on. I may try that on the next one though.

Let Koola know that Soona and Meiji miss her! Especially since they’re now living in a box, poor babies. They will soon have a sparkly new home.
