Sweet Potato Queen Photos
I got my mom to send me a couple of pictures from the big event. Here’s one of some of the queens getting down on the patio at the Hunt Store:

And here’s the world-renowned band:

I will try to get some pictures of the parade itself and the frightening contraption on which some of the queens rode. As near as I could tell, it was either a bus that had had the sides and top removed or else the remains of two or three cars welded together to create an extended platform. I’m serious, I was scared to go anywhere near it.

I lived in Texas for 2 years. And sometimes I have no regrets at all at having left.
My daughter, however, will forever have Texas on all of her official documents.
Really, Dallas wasn’t all that interesting. Compared to your stories.
