Dressing my dragon

The Henna shawl is starting to shape up nicely. At this point in the pattern, all the complicated shaping is done. From here on out it’s all garter stitch, except that you do four yarn overs every other row.

Here’s a shot of my childhood buddy, Figment, modelling the in-progress shawl. Not that he needs a shawl at all, being a pretty exothermic kind of critter.

I visited with my grandmother this afternoon. She’s still recovering from hip surgery and is feeling pretty down. I bought her a bunch of yarn and some #9 circs to work on a simple tank top pattern while she recovers. Hopefully it will keep her hands (and mind) busy while her bones knit. (No pun intended.)

I knew that..I was just testing you..

Kaetchen, you’re right. I think I might throw some lace into the middle panel just to keep myself from falling asleep and poking out my eye with my needles.

Then again, it’s great in movies.

Daphne, this is being worked on #8s, so it’s really not that bad.

That is one HELL of a lot of garter stitch. You’re going to want another project to avoid boredom, D.

Looking good! I want to try a lace shawl soon but I know my patience level and I don’t know if I could stand knitting something with such tiny needles for so long :) Shawls always look so nice once blocked though…I can’t wait to see the finished product.

Glad to see I’m not the only one with childhood buddies still around. 😉
