Work Knitting is a Success!

Friday, May 13th, 2005

Allright! The first weekly meeting of the work knitters was an unqualified success. I got Jake, Melissa and Shannon started knitting and they all took to it very quickly. I told them to keep working on their garter stitch until next week, when we’ll meet again and I’ll show them how to purl. Woo-hoo!

No good deed goes unpunished

Wednesday, May 11th, 2005

So this morning I swing by the grocery store to replenish my supply of coffee. I bought the usual HEB blend, which is really good, and a very expensive bag of Ghiradelli double-choclate. With great anticipation of my morning caffeine fix, I walked into work and headed towards the break room. When I got there, […]

Cranial Meltdown

Monday, May 9th, 2005

My brain is running about eighty degrees too hot right now. I had a somewhat stressful weekend, and I’ve been debugging and re-coding stuff since I got home last night (with a few hours reserved for sleep). Another reason to listen to live music

Friday, May 6th, 2005

A few months ago, I discovered that the Internet Archive has an online library of live music recordings. Most of the bands that have contributed music are independant groups, but two very large contributors are the Grateful Dead and the Cowboy Junkies. I’m a Cowboy Junkies fan so I downloaded several of their tracks and […]

Commence the Ensleevement

Thursday, May 5th, 2005

A bunch of things are going on right now in my knitting and blogging worlds. Last night I went down to the Candlelight Coffee House/Wine Bar and started cranking on the sleeves for the Bastille Cables sweater. I think I’m going to have to re-do my work though, because the cabled section of the sleeve […]

An Ending

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2005

. . . and hopefully a beginning. Something happened on Sunday which had not happened since Kelly and I split up. I knew this day was coming, and I knew it would hurt. But it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I was talking to her on the phone in the morning […]
