Knitting by the Firefly light
This weekend I spent most of my time (minus two bike rides) in front of the television. Well, technically, in front of my computer, but I was watching a TV show. I was watching the first (and sadly, only) season of Firefly, a kind of space western. It didn’t make it as a TV series, but it did create enough of a fan base that the cast was signed to a three-movie deal. The first movie, Serenity, is supposed to come out late this year.
While I was watching the frontiersy heroes traipse across the outer reaches of the galaxy, I was cranking back and forth on the Henna shawl. It’s kind of slow going, but I’m making a little progress. I think I may take a break on it soon and get back to the sleeve of the Bastille Cables just for a sense of completion.

you should *definitely* knit a Jayne hat for the premiere. bask in the warm glow of firefly solidarity.
i know i’ll be knitting one as soon as i get a chance to watch the ep again and study the hat more. besides being a neat inside joke, it’s just insane-looking enough to be cool.

Yep, I think it’s IE, as I run on Windows 2000 when I’m not at home and I can’t see new entries. It’s intermittent though. Happens on a couple of other sites too. But only those using older versions of Movable Type.

Hi, just testing, I just opened your site in Mozilla and the post shows up fine. Must be a glitch with IE. Rowena.

Hi David, I don’t know if you’ve been looking at the invisible text problem, but it is still happening. I have to highlight where I think the text is, and then read it while it’s highlighted with the left click of the mouse. I’m using XP with sp2 with IE 6.0 if that helps any. The previous days posts are visible to me, just not the newest entry. Ta, Rowena.

I am very, very jealous of anyone who’s seen the Serenity movie yet. I may have to kill them. Have to think about that.
Jojo, I LOVED Jayne’s hat! Maybe I should knit one in anticipation of the premier? Truly, that hat would let everyone know you are fearless.

there have been a few test screenings of _serenity_ in austin, but the tickets sell out really quickly.
