Home Cookin’

After the ineffable dreariness caused by the Skelaxin, I finally had a lucid and wonderful day yesterday. I spent it at my mom’s house on the river in the company of my brother, my sister, and their respective families. We swam, wrangled children, avoided talking about politics, wrangled children, and generally had a wonderful time.

We had a picnic dinner of home made macaroni and cheese, barbecued chicken, black-eyed peas, cucumber salad with feta and olives, and freshly baked bread. It was just perfect.

In knitting news, I think I’m going to have to rip out some more of the Fenna shawl. (I know I was calling it the Henna shawl. Oops. I’m having some confusion with my unvoiced fricatives.) Somehow, even after ripping back to before the center panel’s edge started wandering, I’ve got the increases all screwed up. Oh well, it’s good for the soul. Or something like that.

Yep lace knitting could drive you back to the muscle relaxers.
