Interpreted Rhyme
This just came to me in the shower. It’s a slight twist on an existing geek poem. It rhymes, but only after it’s been interpreted. If anyone’s seen anything like this before, let me know. I’d like to think I just stumbled on a new literary mechanism, but I’m sure there are examples out there someplace. I just haven’t seen them before.
Roses are #FF0000
Violets are #0000FF
All my base
are belong to `echo $READER`
Translation for the non-geeks:
#FF0000 = red
#0000FF = blue
`echo $READER` = name of the person reading; you
Update
I just realized that the original version of that limmerick was interpreted rhyme too. The only difference is that in mine, all the rhyming words have to be interpreted from code. My change was to add “`echo $READER`”.
Still, this gets me thinking . . .
