First Sock Cuff
I may yet fall prey to the dreaded sock-knitting addiction. Here’s the first attempt so far.

This is the Brooks Farm Duet that I got in 2004 at Kid ‘n Ewe. It’s a wool/mohair blend, and it’s coming out all warm and soft and springy. I can’t wait to try them out.

Sock knitting is definitely addictive - I always keep a pair on the needles. They are great when you need a portable project. Love the yarn - definitely snuggly looking…..

Don’t you love Duet? I’m knitting a scarf for myself from a hank I got at this year’s Kid’n'Ewe. And I just finished my first pair of socks - they’re kind of baggy and not all that attractive, but cozy and warm and I love them. I may be hooked….

Sock knitting, dude. Resistance is futile. Sure you want mohair on your feet, though?

Cari,
I don’t know - is it bad to have mohair on your feet? I’ve never really done much with it so I’m not familiar with its qualities.
Will people look at me funny?

You and I are at about the same place in our sock construction! I don’t have much time right now with midterms coming up (I have to create 4 exams for next week!) besides working on my 4th Master’s class so you will probably have toasty toes looooong before I will. (Of course, my feet don’t get cold here in SA!) I am also afraid that socks will be quite habit forming. I just wish that the light in the movie theater was just a bit more lighter so that I could knit and see a movie. As it is the needles are so small and the yarn so thin that I am afraid that I will drop to many stitches. (Recommend Memoirs of a Geisha)
