In which teeth are gnashed

I swung by the mail sorting facility where my mail was being held this morning. To make a long story short, my yarn, needles and half-knit sock are gone. No idea what has become of them.

(To expand ever so slightly – the service at sorting facilities sucks. They don’t normally do customer service at all, but they have to when they’re holding mail. I had to ring a doorbell and wait outside a set of tinted doors while I watched people walk back and forth until one of them finally opened the door to ask me what I wanted. I gave him my address and apartment number. Ten minutes later he came back with the mail for another apartment. About five minutes after that, he came back with my mail mixed in with another apartment’s, and no sock. Did I already say grrrrr?)

But in the midst of of my preparations for hara-kiri, two of my friends alerted me to the Yarn Harlot’s Knitting Olympics. Yes! A chance to start again! A challenge to redeem myself as a nascent sock knitter. I shall throw my needles into the ring and commit myself to knitting my long-planned kilt hose.

So sorry to hear about the missing sock-in-progress! I hope it eventually shows up….. Kilt hose, wow! That’s definitely a challenge! Good luck!

I was tempted by the YarnHarlot’s Olympics but opted for the UFOlympics ( instead. Got to get back to that lace shawl I put down this summer.

Kilt hose-AWESOME!! (read as squealing with excitement!) Can’t wait to see them with the kilt! I may knit Celtic/Irish cabled socks for the event!

[…] Yes, you remember, the socks that I left at my mom’s, which she mailed to me back in January? […]
