Pappa’s got a brand new bag

. . . of yarn.

Brand New Bag . . . of yarn

The Yarn Barn is having one of their rarer-than-hen’s-teeth sales. 25% off their entire stock. It was only through focused force of will that I refrained from buying any needles.

Clockwise from the top:
Rowan Soft Baby in light blue: These balls are destined for one, maybe two Baby Albert coats.
Plymouth Sockotta: Socks!
Classic Elite Inca Alpaca: Caper Hats!
Schoeller & Stahl Fortissima Socka: Kilt Hose!
Berroco Zodiac: one of those thin scarves. Pretty yet mindless knitting.

And in the middle is Socks-Socks-Socks from Knitter’s Magazine. It’s got enough funky patterns in it to keep me occupied with sock knitting for a while.

I’m out more than I’d like to admit, but the 25% off, the gift card from my brother (thanks, Matt!) and the timely arrival of my tax refund made it quite painless.

Hm . . . perhaps I do need some more needles after all . . .

One cannot have too much yarn or too many needles! Looks like you scored! I think I have that same Fortissima Socka yarn in my stash (although not enough for kilt hose….

Yeah! It was an awesome sale! I picked up some Noro wool and wool to make pillows, more wool for a felted music stand tote (at the request of Nicole who was not too thrilled with the possible 2 hours with Mom at the YB but did get excited about the felted tote and the many fabulous colors and metalic sheened threads with which to bead “something” if only she knew what! She has to find a book and we may have a new convert to the YB’s possibilities!), and the reversible knitted vest (scoop and v-neck) from the Knit stitch book.
Can’t wait to see the new projects we will all have next week. (Oh, and one skein of the organic cotton for face cloths -I am tired of baby hats and booties-I have made 2 1/2 sets-one hat to go!- for the many new babies for the new mommies at work.)
