Mostly Moved

Well, I’m home.

All of my stuff is now either in the new house or in the trunk of my car. I turned the keys to the apartment in to the leasing office just after noon today. I’m officially moved out. And exhausted. I want to lie down and sleep for a week.

But there’s no time for that, because I’m heading up to Kerrville in an hour or two to see my mom and my sister. (Sis is coming in to town with her family this evening. Brother-in-law and I are probably going to blow a bunch of shit up with fireworks.)

I’ve got some plans in store for my little Sweater Project in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. I’m trying to figure out how to start the next knitting project, but having my room crammed full of unpacked containers and assorted moving detritus is complicating things. So give me another week to get settled in and find my bearings. When I return, I should have all sorts of cool pictures to show off.

Oh, did I forget to mention that I got a new camera? I’ve been having a rough time lately and I decided to resort to some shopping therapy.

Up until now, most of the pictures on my blog have been taken using my trusty Olympus Camedia. I think I got it in December of 2002, just before I started blogging.

But now, pappa got a brand new camera. Say hello to the Nikon D50. It’s going to take me a little while to figure out how to use it.

PS
Suzy, Bonnie, Aarlene, Cynthia, Pippy – thanks for the kind words, ladies.

Happy Independance Day, everyone! And for the Brits out there – um, no hard feelings, right?

Glad everything is moved. Now the fun begins, right?! I moved into an apartment that was 1/2 the size of the house so it was lots of “fun” trying to find nooks and crannies for all our …stuff! Bed risers are awesome inventions and whoever invented them should be canonized! It is amazing how much storage space in under a queen sized bed! (We have 2!) Cannot wait for your next project, they are always interesting. I just bought (on sale!) some wonderful silky wool in a wonderful jewel tone (violet blue ) to make the Florence sweater from RY Classicart’s book 10. I needed something to inspire me and hadn’t been with the pastels that it suggested but have been wanting to knit the sweater. Hope to see you soon at the YB after you settle in.

Congrats on your cool new toy!
Fyi, Marcel and I had a hellish night last night, as he is terrified of fireworks, and we realized too late that we were out of doggy Valium. Know that when you light fireworks you are inducing panic in small, nervous, vulnerable little bug-eyed animals for miles around.

I just bought a Nikon D50 too! So far I love it!

Hey, Dave, fellow knit-blogger Dave here. I just got the Nikon D50 a couple of weeks ago. How are you finding it to work with? (Did you stock up on any new lenses?)
