Turbo Knitting Time
I am so screwed.
I don’t have any pics to share just now, but take my word for it – the first new kilt sock is done, and it’s lovely. I’m really happy with the way it’s turned out. I put it and the surviving member of the Knitting Olympics kilt hose on yesterday and the new one stayed up nicely while the old one slumped down around my ankles. Adding ribbing did wonders.
Ribbing: it’s not just for her pleasure anymore.

However, I am now in the pathetic position of having five days until Rhinebeck and I’ve only just finished turning the heel of the second sock. Can you say “Oh Crap”? I knew you could.
So, appropriate measures are being taken. I’m stocking up on caffeine and low-cal chocolate. I am going to get all of my trip preparations done tonight, so for the rest of the week I can spend every spare moment with needles in hand. I’ve put together a playlist for Shuffleupagus (my iPod Shuffle) that has the perfect blend of frenetic energy and brooding calm.
Here we go.

I love that you named your shuffle, Shuffleupagus- its just awesome.
I can always do what works in the cartoons to insure success…..
“David, I believe in you!” or tailorific singing mice… whichever you prefer.

That kilt sock rocks! I’m wishing you loads of knitting mojo to finish the second one. I almost always knit the second sock while wearing the first one. Somehow it makes the second sock go faster.
Y’all should see David’s gorgeous cables!

Nice legs!! I like the kilt hose too. I’m sure you’ll have them done by Rhinebeck or your legs will be cold. It’s a bit nippy up here. I’m working on a sweater myself. I think you have a better chance of success.

Why do you persist in torturing yourself?!! Please take frequent stretching breaks and a dose of Airborne wouldn’t hurt.;)
October 16th, 2006 at 7:20 pm
You can do it!!! Go go go KiltMan!

You can do – just call in sick…..
The cuffs will come in handy if it’s really cold – you can pull them up over your knees!

Rock on, Brotha! I’m hoping that some of your talent will eventually rub off on me…
Oh, and I stole your idea about posting the playlist. You have quite a kickin’ eclectic mix, don’t you?

Kilt hose are often worn with garters and flash tabs anyway – so sagging can be remedied – but the “ho” looks good.

What a great name for your I-pod.
The kilt hose looks great. Good luck getting the second one done!

Oh crap! (hey, I can say it!)
HAH! I’m not the only one who names my stuff…
The hose are really looking good. Rock the needles, my man, you can do it! Guess we won’t hear from you again until after Rhinebeck…

I suppose when we’re wandering around Rhinebeck, it would not be a good move for me to turn to my husband and say, “Hey, you haven’t spotted a guy with really nice legs running around in a kilt yet, have you?” Dude will have to learn to knit, I swear.
Gorgeous cables. May the caffeine be with you.

If I can finish a hooded sweater in a week and a half, you can finish a sock in five days ;o)
The ‘hooded’ part is really important – do you know how big those damned things are!?!
Anyway, good luck and hope to see you there :o)
