Someone please shoot me
So, it’s been a little while – since Thanksgiving, in fact. Lots has been going on the past few weeks.
First off, I changed jobs. I’m still at the same company, but I’m having a lot more fun in my new spot. I’m doing systems administration work for our clients, which basically means there’s a completely new problem to solve every half hour or so. It’s challenging and fun. This is good.
I’m also almost done with a digital photography class I’ve been taking. I’ve been having lots of fun with my camera and I’m planning to put my new m@d sk1ll2 to work tomorrow at a photoshoot for the San Antonio Stitch ‘n Bitch. We’re going to get together with all of our knitted finery and I’m going to take pictures of everyone, with the atmosphere ranging from merely glamorous to “please let me have your baby.” Then I’m going to get some prints made and we’re all going to go through them and select those that we’d like to use for a calendar. I’ve been shopping around and so far the best-quality, lowest-price calendar printing service I’ve found is through Café Press. I’m still looking though – if anyone knows of a service that will print up calendars on high-quality paper for less than $14 a piece, let me know.
Finally, I’m sick as a dog right now. Woof woof, hack hack. If I stand up too fast I get dizzy, I’ve got constant pressure in my head, everything aches, yadda yadda yadda. I am going to will this shit out of my system by tomorrow morning so we can do the photo shoot. In the meantime, I’m sipping tea, watching videos and working on my two projects:
Now if you’ll excuse me . . . woof woof, hack hack.

Hope you feel better soon, had a nasty cold that wouldn’t shake for a damned week, and yes, that week was definitely damned.
The calendar project sounds loads of fun.

Costco has a calendar printing service too. I’m unsure of the price, but I’m sure if you buy two cases they are cheap 😉

So sorry you’re sick. Salsa is good for getting things moving in your head; the hotter and spicier the better. Seriously; it works. You’re in Texas you should be able to get some serious salsa.
Congrats on the new job! Looking forward to the photos.
I like the sock and the scarf. Nice work.

I saw your pics and they are great! I second the Costco thing. I think they are $10 a piece, and you can even put photos on dates. Angie and I are making some calendars for the family with pics for birthdays and anniversaries. I hope you get better soon, and we need to do lunch at Costco soon!

I was a scoche worried about you. I’m glad you haven’t died (and nobody updated the blog to tell the rest of the world). Sorry you’re sick. I tend to have a “cold” off and on throughout the cold weather so I feel your pain (especially today!). I finished the sweater that is a circle, I hope to be posting about it sometime soon-ish (need to wait for the recipient so I can get photos).

Congratulations on your new, more interesting job!
The shoot was fun; you picked an awesome place. The pics came out lovely.
So how many baby offers have you received? The group should know so we can start knitting blankets/kimonos/booties/beanies!

You must have caught my funk over the inter-web. It wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened. I’m on DSL and I know for a fact that germs can travel over phone lines.
I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “she’s off her rocker, she’s cracked, she’s completely nutters, the gal is mad, I tell you, MAD!!” The first two are true. My rocking chair is on the other side of the room and the weather has turned dry and cold, but I’m moisturizing as best as I can. But I have not got any nuts and am feeling quite pleased with most people these days (most). Crazy? Nah. While I did take microbiology, I also know that once I gave someone my cold over the phone line. So there, neener.
and drink your tea like a good boy. I hope you’re feeling better soon.
