Ain’t no way I’m gonna finish this

Sorry, no pics at the moment.

So, I haven’t budgeted my time very well this week, and there were yarn gnomes. A great fire! A huge flood!

But mostly I didn’t budget my time very well. The back of the vest is almost done, but unless I pull a couple of all-nighters, I don’t think this vest is going to be complete. Darn it.

But I did get gifts for most of the people on my list. And I went to the Yarn Barn yesterday and ran into several old friends whom I’ve not seen in ages (Hi Suzy! Hi Cathy! Hi Sybil and Martha and Bobbi and Shirley and Nancy and Shirley!)

I also found my first letterbox. Those of you who listen to the Lime & Violet podcast know that Miss Violet and special guest Alcariel were going on and on about letterboxing in episode 49.5, and my impressionable little mind went “Oooh! That sounds like fun!” And it sounds like something I can do that will get my butt back on my bicycle. It turns out there’s a letterbox between me and the Yarn Barn, so I went scouting for it on the way over on my bike yesterday. I haven’t yet carved myself a stamp, so I didn’t open the box, but I did take pictures of it to prove I located it. Maybe over the holidays I’ll get the stuff together to make my own stamp and join this bizarre pastime for real.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

This is a busy time of year without yarn gnomes, floods or fires! You have had a rough week.

I’d never heard of letterboxing before. Fun. There are even some letterboxes near my home. I’ll have to check that out. Actually, I think next summer this would be an awesome project to do with the school aged kids I work with. So thanks for the heads up!

Wow, I’ve never heard of letterboxing either, and it appears there are a few here on my tiny island, and 3 out of the 4 are within range for me to get to on foot from town. Very cool!

Sorry to hear you will not get the vest done, that has to be frustrating! I know the recipient will be happy to wear it when it is done. Just call it a New Year’s vest 😉

    Merry Christmas to you!
