Vacation
Sorry it’s been slow here lately. I was on vacation last week in Portland. Lilith asked me to be her date for a friend’s wedding in Portland, Oregon, which is a city I dearly love. So, we’ve gotten back together. Yeah, I know, my love life does not follow linear paths.
It was a wonderful week. The travel parts uniformly sucked; I haaaate airlines these days. It didn’t help at all that my Texas driver’s license recently expired, and I had to get it renewed. They didn’t give me a new license when I had that done; I’m still waiting for the official one in the mail. In the meantime, I’m carrying a document that says “yeah, your license says it’s expired, but it’s really not.” I showed that to the TSA folks as I was getting ready to leave for Portland and they said “We’ll also need to see your birth certificate.” Yeah, because I carry that with me.
So I got extra-special security attention each time I went through the airport. Fun, fun.
Anyway, then I got to Portland and Lilith arrived shortly afterwards. We had a wonderful time together. Well, except for when I immolated the bacon and french toast that I cooked for breakfast the first day. It was embarrassing enough that I destroyed breakfast, but when the fire alarm went off. . . oy vey.
Over the next couple of days we went on a wide-ranging yarn crawl of Portland, the details of which can be found on Lilith’s blog. In the midst of that we got to spend some quality knitting time with Cari and Thumper. There may be a smackdown in the making between me and my beloved yarny-haired muse - she seems to think she can knit a pair of kilt hose faster than I can. We shall see.
We also attended the wedding and had a great time.
Here, for your viewing pleasure, are assorted pictures from the adventure.

Belles Of The Ball

(yeah, his kilt’s authentic, but I knit my own hose, baby)

The race doesn’t start until we both cast on, baby.
Glad you caught that rainbow too. We were out for a walk and saw it stretch across the river…

Its good to know that your last pictured WIP didn’t kill you… we were starting to worry.
His kilt may have been authentic, but your ensemble just looks better to me.

That’s such a great line, “my love life does not follow linear paths”. Hope you don’t mind if I borrow it!

Was driving to somewhere I had not previously been to in Portland yesterday, and, BOOM, there is Tandem Coffee house. Couldn’t stop, but weird seeing someplace new that you had just been to. Ah, the 6 degrees of coffee houses! Could be a new parlor game.

Oh! Be still my heart! Two men in kilts. I’m happy now. Thanks

“my love life does not follow linear paths”
It would be a little odd if matters of the heart took straight paths!
Thanks for the kilt pr0n.

The bacon set off the fire alarm…..right!
Oh, by the way, I hope to see Lilith again in SA. I like her!
