One finally offered her idea of a good conversation starter, which was something about the renaissance festival she would be attending and the brand-new black velvet cape with the silver satin lining she'd be wearing. The other looked distressed, then changed the subject to the new Sex & the City movie. Miss SCA sneered and refused to discuss it, leaving me to try to bridge the gap between the two.
