Jumpstarting my knitting mojo

So a few years ago, my friend Amanda pointed out that in some circles, it’s not acceptable to watch porn while knitting. Weird, I know, but I thought maybe I should get more mainstream with my video-watching-while-knitting habits, so I looked for something on the shelves of my local Target next time I went shopping.

And I discovered Sex and the City. And I was hooked.

Not all of my acquaintances dig it as much as I do - my sweetie can’t watch it without wanting to seriously maim most of the characters, and the one time I showed an episode to my mom, her only comment was “Haven’t any of these people ever heard of STDs?” So yeah, it’s not for everyone.

But I went to see the movie in the theater last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought they wrapped up the series appropriately when it was on TV, but the movie was a good extension of the stories from the series. And I found I couldn’t just sit there without some knitting in my hands, so I turned the heel and cranked a few more rows of my long-neglected Serenity socks. Pics up soon.

In the meantime, I have a small house to furiously clean as I await my sweetie’s arrival. Excuse me while I dig out the flamethrower vacuum cleaner.

*looks around the house* Can I borrow that not-flamethrower when you’re done? >.>

Dude, I love your mother. That’s exactly what I thought when I watched an episode!

I loved Sex and the City - my Mom hates it too. Well, she hates Samantha and she’s disappointed in Carrie. Though I was too when she messed things up with Aiden - he was perfect! But no Big.

I haven’t seen the movie yet. I’m hoping to this weekend. Thanks for the review.

Ummm…it’s NOT acceptable to watch porn while knitting? Really? I guess I didn’t get the memo.

Turning a heel by the dim glow of the footlights and theater exit sign?! You truly are an adept knitter.

Hmmm. I really don’t think you will have to clean too much, do you? Not much time is spent investigating the latest spider webs…at least I wouldn’t think so. I can think of a few more interesting things to do than that! ;) Welcome back to SA, Lilith!

Y’know, last Friday I spent all day working on a project with two women who had nothing in common, and couldn’t manage to converse with each other. One finally offered her idea of a good conversation starter, which was something about the renaissance festival she would be attending and the brand-new black velvet cape with the silver satin lining she’d be wearing. The other looked distressed, then changed the subject to the new Sex & the City movie. Miss SCA sneered and refused to discuss it, leaving me to try to bridge the gap between the two.
Wish you’d been there to help me out.

If I think about taking a flamethrower to Sex and the City and porn, it makes me very happy. =>

The more refined knitters among us watch PBS…ahem. But I’m not one of them. I prefer to watch gorgeous men…def not watching porn then. hahahahaha…but anyone who reads me knows of my obsession with Viggo…sigh.

PS…Enjoy your visit with your Sweetie. My Honey just left. Wonderful visit. Not so wonderful seeing him off at the airport. :( But…my apartment sure is clean!
