Knitomaton v 0.1 is up

Hi folks,

Two things. First, I’m not a big fan of posting too many details of my personal life on the web, but this blog is one way that I communicate with a lot of my friends, so here goes. I broke up with Lilith. The details of our relationship are nobody’s business but our own, so I’m not going to go into them here. I appreciate your respect in this matter.

Second, I’ve got a usable (though still butt-ugly) version of the project tentatively named Knitomaton up and working. You can access it here. I’m still learning CSS layout to make it prettier, but it’s got the basic functionality to make it usable.

I’m going to try and get it to work with charts in the near future, possibly integrating it with VisiKnit. I also want to work on a parser so that you can just put in a link to a Knitty pattern and generate a usable page. That might take a bit of work; we’ll see if it’s practicable.

Hope you know I was kidding in my previous comment on your knitting toy! I do marvel at the things people come up with, especially when the process is shooting completely over my head! I’ll look forward to seeing how Knitomaton develops.

Sorry about the breakup. Things like that are never easy, but you’re right, even those of us who put portions of our lives out on the internet for any passing stranger to read do deserve some measure of privacy. Take care & be well.

You are much bigger person David to not sling mud in any ones direction.

I’m digging the progress. I haven’t had a chance to mess around with it yet though.

    Have a good week.

There’s a lot of crap I don’t blog about either, so I know where you’re coming from. I do appreciate you letting us know that it did happen, because I’d be the clod that asked about her and well, insert cyber foot in cyber mouth you know?

Oh man link that thing to an online pattern and ho, ho, watch out!

Automatic linking to Knitty — cool!

And you’re so right — the entire internet doesn’t need to know everything….

My sincere good wishes to you in…anywhere you require them, really.

Looking forward to more progress on the Knitomaton.

No questions, just hugs and a beer.
