I went back out to my mom’s place this weekend to do some more computer work. Her new workstation is 95% done – the onboard sound card is the only thing I couldn’t get working, so I need to pick up a cheap PCI sound card and install it next weekend.
Installing the software she needed and trying to get the damn onboard sound to work involved mostly sitting there waiting for the computer to reboot. It is a Windows machine, after all. So I took the opportunity to continue work on the second Toirneach Kilt Ho.
I’m into the calf decrease already, so this sucker should be done in a couple of days.
This morning, mom made sausage and pancakes and then she and I took the indefatigable Beau for a walk. On the way down the driveway, Beau pounced on his outdoor-dwelling buddy Ninja and proceeded to nom the living daylights out of him.
It’s one of the weirdest animal relationships I’ve seen: Beau really wants to pick up the cats by their heads. The cats will meow and complain, but they never so much as bare their claws at him. It’s adorably bizarre.
No actual cats were harmed in the writing of this blog post, although one was rendered somewhat soggy.
