Care Packages

I’ve been remiss in crediting several very nice people who have sent me care packages over the last few months.

Enchanting Juno sent me some wonderful handspun. It’s a mouth-watering blend of alpaca, silk and merino. And it’s mine! You can’t have any! Mu-hah-hah-hah-hah!!!

Then, Michelle (aka AKKnitter on Ravelry) sent me some wool/nylon blend to make another pair of kilt hose. She’s very considerate that way.

And this last week, one of my oldest friends, Amanda, sent me a care package of all sorts of goodies in an unabashed attempt to make me start learning how to spin. I’ve known Amanda since 1990 when we met at college. And a few hours after receiving the package, I found out that she just got published in Knitty with a pattern called Versatility. I’m so proud of her.

Yay for Amanda, oh and I’ll be knitting that up for my sister for Xmas. :) And probably for myself too! Love all your goodies!!! GOrgeous yarn..what are you going to make with it? Oh and the markers and row counters and stuff – Very COOL!

And so what will you be making with that lovely handspun you are waving in front of us? Hmmmm?

I think that Amanda is rather brilliant, Versatility is just amazing! It’s the kind of pattern that makes me wish I could put all real life on hold and just spend all day every day focused on knitting that one item until it was complete in all it’s gorgeousness.

*blush* thanks guys! If it’s any consolation the folks on Ravlery say it’s knitting up reasonably fast.

I didn’t realize she was *that* Amanda! Right on!! What’s funny is, I’d just checked out the new Knitty and that pattern was the one that jumped out at me and screamed, “Knit me immediately or else!”

Too cool! Oh, and neat care package too…

    Love you bro
