It’s all good here

I’ve gotten several comments and e-mails regarding the last post. Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. Ike completely missed San Antonio. I’m much more concerned about my friends down on the coast and around Houston and Beaumont. They got hammered. Twisted Yarns in Spring just got power restored today – and they were north of Houston proper. Plum Texan got displaced and just went back to work today (I think).

Fucking hurricanes.

Should the waters be rising I am confident in your ability to MacGyver yourself and your knitting paraphernalia to safety. Just remember, computers don’t float.

Seriously – yes, hurricanes do suck. And yes, that is a highly technical term, defined by degree of suckage.

Well, sort of displaced. There’s still no power at my house, so we’re still at my mom’s – but yep, I went back to work yesterday and the hub did today. Plus we’re both getting paid this week. He’s gone by to check on the place and all is well, if a bit stale. I will fail to bore you with the other ways in which things have improved for us.

So we’re actually pretty lucky…but I really appreciate the shout-out.

Want to worry about someone? Sea Anemone Amy is a Galvestonian. My girl is in serious limbo right now…it’ll be nice to get more resources together so we can figure out how to help them.
