For Kath

I was working on a swatch of my Briar Rose yarn last night. Nothing fancy, just a 4×4″ stockinette square. I knit a row, then turned it around and purled a row, then knit a row, then turned it around and purled a row. I know, the excitement is just keeping you [...]
I still have two gorgeous skeins of Briar Rose slung over the back of one of my chairs.
They hang there, uncomplaining, endlessly patient with my complete lack of knitting activity.
For some reason I suddenly started having thoughts about them today at work; remembering their soft and squishy hand and their smell.
I believe there will be [...]
I cannot believe how long this project took. Knitting, sadly is not something I do on a daily basis these days. I say “these days” instead of “any more” because I know these things run in cycles. The muse may descend again; who knows.

Being [...]
My poor, neglected blog.
I just haven’t had that much to share lately. Most of the interesting things going on in my life right now are not things that I want to post on the Internet. And all of my witty quips have been directed towards Twitter (I’m @druzziel on Twitter). But there [...]
I was leaving for work one morning last week and I saw a couple of twigs in my mailbox. “That’s funny”, I thought, “I guess the grounds guys were going a little nuts with the weed whackers this morning.” I was running late (as always) so I didn’t stop to clear out the [...]
I went up to Austin yesterday for the final Recreational League game of the season and saw some really great derby action. If there’s a league near you, go. It’s the honorable thing to do.
