I added some toggles to the sakiori. These are elk horn tips, courtesy of Kaetchen, who knows her chicken. You got to know your chicken.
I also figured I’d show you the progress of the Sooper Sekrit Project. It’s about three rows so far, so I don’t think I’m giving anything away with [...]

Here’s a shot of me modeling the completed sakiori.
I never exhibit posture like this in real life.
I’m really happy with this thing, even though I have been hating it like water hates the desert for the last month. It’s very warm, not too scratchy, and just about the perfect length. And the colors [...]

The Sakiori is done, washed, blocked, and currently drying at home. I haven’t added any post-pattern touches yet, like adding some toggles that a dear friend got for me. But I think it looks pretty nifty as-is. I’ll get some pics of it this evening if it’s dry when I get home.
I’m [...]

The Sakiori is nearing completion:
I’ve added the seed stitch border to one side. I need to do the other side, then do the collar area, then add toggles and i-chord loops.
Then wash & block and it will be done. I can’t wait. Most of the rest of the work is picking up [...]

Today is my day off, so I took advantage of it by sleeping in waaaay late and then riding the new bike in to work. I know that I’m slower on this new bike, so I was a little surprised when it took me the same amount of time to get downtown.
I think the [...]

I haven’t worked on the sakiori in two days. I’m really close though, and tonight I’m going to try and get some more work done. I think I’ve got maybe five hours left on it. I discovered that my measurements were screwed up though. The vest is composed of four large [...]

I spent last weekend at my mom’s place. Kelly and the dogs came up with me and we all had a great time. On Saturday night, my mom braised some venison filets and I made some Risotto Milanese. It was the third time I’ve tried to make risotto and it finally came [...]

I’m still sick. Every time I cough, it feels like something died in my lungs. This is NO FUN AT ALL. I want a refund.
But in my sickness, I’ve been a little bit productive. Not a whole lot, but enough to justify some more photos.
I just went outside to get a [...]

Day one, I had a horrible sinus infection and a throbbing headache.
Day two, I felt like I’d just run a marathon in all the bad ways - no endorphin buzz.
Day three. I really planned to go back to work today. God knows I have enough to keep me busy for a good long [...]

I’m getting very nervous.
Tomorrow morning, I will board a plane which will ultimately take me to Sacramento, CA. I’m going to the Dixon Lambtown USA festival. I’m also going to meet someone that I’ve been talking to online and on the phone for quite some time. I am hoping for very good [...]
